Inside the Barfly Fridge
Tap
The tap dispenses the beer from the keg. When pulling beer the rule is "All the way ON and All the way off" If you do not do this you will end up with foamy beer.
Regulator
Controls the flow of CO2 into the beer keg to pressurize the beer. The meter displays pounds per square inch. Most beer should be pressurized at 6 psi (pounds per square inch) to avoid foamy beer.
Beer Keg
30 Litre tall slim keg of beer equivalent to 88 bottles of beer.....on the wall.
Coupling
Connects the gas hose and the tap hose to allow the beer to be tapped.
Beer Hose
Beer flows through this hose from the keg to the tap. Should be removed and cleaned periodically with dish soap and hot water.
Drip Tray
Catches the overflow from a bad pour and tap dripping. Definitely clean on a weekly basis in the dishwasher! Remember it is self contained and does not magically drain into a self cleaning self evaporating hole.
CO2 Tank
Contains CO2 to pressurize beer. A 5lb tank will last a long time if being used at 6 psi.
Ice Box
Will tend not to freeze over as often because you are leaving the fridge closed for the majority of the time. It is an excellent place to store gin and vodka for those Martini Mondays!!
Emergency Bottle
Spare bottle of favorite beer just in case the keg gets empty sooner than anticipated. To be opened only in case of emergency.
